Ok this is a mix of digital painting and mattepainting, i know mattepainting is a style of digital painting, but this has very few mattepainting techniques, since I only used photos in order to get some textures done, so this was very experimental. First time using this technique
Took me about 2 hours i guess...i might do a big mattepainting out of this when i have the time.

it's great how those ballons bring the viewer nto the scene , i think this effect would work even better if you'd flip the image so that they are on the left side ... and maybe put a little more detail to them ;P ... overall a great artwork

Absolute great atmosphere here.

But i really wouldnt consider it a matte painting only because you used textures.... textures are quite a normal medium for digital painting.

Yeah i think you are right, usually the heavier parts of the composition should be on the left side of the image indeed !
